The Angry Gut: Links Between Digestive Health and Aggression in Dogs

This webinar will look at science on how issues within the digestive system may contribute to aggressive tendencies in the dog.

Amber will look at the reasons why gut and associated digestive issues influence behaviour and then look at how we can recognize imbalances and disease within this body system.

She will also focus on how dog guardians, trainers, and behaviourists can provide information to the vets with the aim of supporting appropriate consideration of digestive health in dogs who have shown aggression.

Don't miss out on joining this enlightening session, where we aim to empower you to support your dog's well-being by considering their digestive health, especially if they've shown signs of aggression.

Veterinary Surgeon & Behaviourist

Dr. Amber Batson

Dr. Amber Batson graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1999. She commenced her career in general veterinary practice immediately after graduating. However, she quickly noticed that many consultations involved aspects of behavior, sparking her interest in acquiring science-based knowledge in this field. Over the years, Dr. Batson continued to work in veterinary practice while pursuing various behavior qualifications in dogs, horses, and cats. These qualifications seamlessly integrated with her veterinary work. In 2007, Dr. Batson established her own business, Understand Animals, with the goal of bridging the gap between current scientific knowledge and its practical application for the benefit of animals and their human companions. Alongside her clinical veterinary practice, Understand Animals provided global education on animal behavior and welfare. The business also offered veterinary behavior consultations for clients and engaged in legal expert witness work. Amber remains fervently committed to utilizing science to support a pragmatic and empathetic approach to addressing behavior issues in animals.
