But is it really Separation Anxiety?

The term "separation related behaviors" has widely spread during the last few years. However, it is still common to see it as a synonym of separation anxiety. Although separation anxiety dogs will display separation related behaviors when left home alone, that is just one reason why a dog could elicit these behaviors. Understanding the underlying cause of the behaviors will open a new set of possibilities and will allow us to choose the best approach to help more effectively.

This webinar will cover the importance of appropriately assessing a dog when left alone as well as gathering the background information needed to safely rule out if they are suffering from separation anxiety or something else.

Furthermore, Dr. Moira Hechenleitner will focus on a specific underlying cause: adaptation to being alone when left in a fairly new environment, through a real case study. You will learn what flags and parameters to look for to determine if this is what's causing the behaviors you are seeing (or if it is separation anxiety after all) and how to successfully address it.
